City Sign De Jong

Dutch international and now former Hamburg midfielder Nigel De Jong has officially signed for Manchester City. Though the terms have yet to be disclosed, many have put the figures in the area of over €20 million.
De Jong, who was signed by the Bundesliga side in 2006, played a total of 66 games, scoring 2 goals, including a game winning brace away to Bayern Munich.
As evidence of City’s buying potential and drive, De Jong is the second player added by chairman Gary Cook. Late last wek, it was announced that Welsh international and former West Ham forward Craig Bellamy signed for the Citizens for a fee of £10 million.
Though the Blues were unsuccessful in their pursuit of AC Milan midfielder Kaka, sources site a number of players still on their radar, such as Newcastle’s Shay Given.
